Helping locals and visitors discover Cape Town

Capeverse set out to be the fastest way to find what's actually happening in Cape Town right now, not a directory of permanently open restaurants nobody needs help finding. We built a map first discovery experience with event data that updates live, a curation workflow the Capeverse team uses to keep listings genuinely current rather than stale, and fast search built for one handed use while out and about. The product is currently in closed beta ahead of a citywide public launch, with early usage concentrated around weekend events and evening dining decisions.

A publishing home for African storytellers

Voices of Africa came to us with a clear problem: existing publishing platforms either buried African writers in a global feed with no local discovery, or offered clunky, ad heavy tools that hurt the reading experience. We built a publishing platform free of distractions with editorial tools for writers, audience analytics editors could actually use, and a reading experience optimized for lower bandwidth mobile connections, since most of the platform's readers access it primarily on mobile data rather than home broadband. The platform now hosts long form journalism and essays from writers across a dozen African countries.

From scattered links to one shared itinerary

JourneyBook needed to replace a spreadsheet and group chat planning process with a single collaborative product, without alienating the non technical friends and family who make up most group trips. We built a Next.js and Node.js web app with collaborative itineraries that update live, booking import from email confirmations, and a mobile friendly day by day view that works even on a patchy connection at the airport. Nine months after launch, JourneyBook is used for trip planning across three continents, with most groups completing their itinerary entirely inside the app instead of falling back to a spreadsheet.
